Citizens‘ Parliaments on Media and Democracy were held in Austria, Ireland, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic in Spring 2025. Participants learned and reflected on the role of media in strengthening democracy and adopted recommendations on media regulation, participation and representation in the media. During the final MeDeMAP project meeting (24–26 September 2025, St. Pölten, Austria), two public round tables were held: one on citizens’ parliaments as a democratic innovation and another on the use and misuse of open research data. The meeting also featured a presentation by Charles University of its short film Agon: Constructions of Democracy.

Throughout the process, citizens experienced direct participation in policymaking and democracy. The results of the Citizens‘ Parliament will be presented to the public on 25 June 2025.
