„Citizen parliaments – learnings for democratic innovation“, Roundtable, 24.9.2025, St. Pölten & Online

COMMIT is inviting to a public panel discussion ‚Citizen Parliaments: Lessons for Democratic Innovation‚, which will take place at St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences on 24 September 2025 at 15:30 CET. The discussion will also be streamed online.

The roundtable will be the first event to present and discuss the findings of the Citizens‘ Parliaments on Media and Democracy in Austria, Ireland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. The Citizens‘ Parliaments took place between March and May 2025 as part of the MeDeMAP research project.

Following the presentation of the results, a panel of Austrian experts will discuss the impact and opportunities of participatory democracy, and how citizens‘ parliaments have established themselves as a policymaking tool, using Vorarlberg and Vienna as examples.

  • Part 1: Presentation of the results by the organisers of the Citizens‘ Parliaments on Media and Democracy in Austria, Ireland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic
  • Part 2: Panel discussion on ‘Impact and opportunities of participatory formats in democracy’ with Markus Götsch (narrativum.at), Tijana Matić and Teresa Feith (Office for Participation/City of Vienna) and Daniela Ingruber (strategieanalysen.at)

The event will be held in English.
